Korden Voice — dictation that stays on your machine
A local, on-device speech-to-text app. Push to talk, toggle, or continuous — with a bundled Whisper model that runs entirely on your computer. Nothing is sent to the cloud.
What is Korden Voice?
Korden Voice is a private speech-to-text dictation app for Windows, macOS, and Linux that transcribes your voice entirely on your own machine using a bundled Whisper model — no cloud, no account required to dictate.
It's the same local-first philosophy as the rest of Korden: the audio never leaves your device, so you can dictate code comments, messages, and notes without sending your voice to a server.
How on-device transcription works
Korden Voice ships a whisper.cpp speech model and runs it locally. Audio is captured, transcribed on-device, and typed into whatever app you're using — all without a network round-trip.
Hold to dictate
Press a key, speak, release — text appears where your cursor is.
Hands-free
Toggle dictation on and off without holding a key.
Keep talking
Continuous mode for longer dictation sessions.
Private by default
Because transcription runs on-device, your voice and the resulting text stay on your machine. There's no cloud service listening in.
Built to pair with your AI crew
Korden Voice complements Korden Desktop: dictate briefs and notes to your AI crew by voice, then let the crew open the pull request.
Together they're a local-first, voice-driven way to work — see how the crew works.
